Although we use our cast iron cookware just about every day in our home, we really look forward to the opportunity to use it at the rendezvouses and now, we can use it in our back yard!  I just finished building a very simple open fire pit not far from the tipi, and will soon be using the pit to prepare meals on the weekends.

If you’re fortunate enough to live in an area where you can have an outdoor fire, you can construct a very simple fire pit that can be used for cooking and for social gatherings.  It never ceases to amaze me at how a fire can be so captivating and mesmerizing.  It just seems to add that special touch to a cold evening gathering of friends or family.
